Quiet privacy. Nothing leaves your device

Your listening habits, your private recordings, your library. Stored on your device, processed on your device, visible to no one else.

No accounts. No tracking. No cloud required.

Two kinds of privacy. Only one that holds.

Most privacy statements are promises. "We won't sell your data." "Your data is secure." These are policy commitments — real ones, often, but dependent on a company keeping its word, maintaining secure infrastructure, and never being acquired by someone with different priorities.

Nuotit's privacy is architectural. There are no accounts because there are no servers to create accounts on. There are no behavioral analytics because nothing monitors your habits. There are no ads because there is no targeting model to feed. The absence is not a policy — it is a structural fact. Nothing can be leaked, breached, or sold that does not exist in the first place.

  • No account or registration of any kind
  • No analytics SDKs — no Mixpanel, Amplitude, Firebase, or equivalent
  • No advertising network integration
  • No cloud backup of library, transcripts, or preferences
  • All audio processing on-device via Core Audio and Neural Engine
  • OPML export — your subscriptions are always portable

What data Nuotit stores — and where

  • Podcast subscriptions — local device storage
  • Playback progress — local device storage
  • Downloaded audio files — local device storage
  • Smart playlists and filters — local device storage
  • Generated transcripts — local device storage
  • Audio profiles and EQ settings — local device storage

None of this data is synchronized to, backed up to, or accessible by any Nuotit server. It does not exist on any server.

Private audio files treated with the same care

Many podcast players are designed around public RSS feeds. When they add local file support at all, the implementation frequently requires uploading your files to the developer's cloud storage — making your private recordings accessible on someone else's server.

Nuotit's import is direct: a file from the Files app or via AirDrop goes into the app's local container on your device. It does not pass through any server. A voice memo recorded during a confidential meeting, a lecture from a private seminar, a Patreon-exclusive MP3 — all imported and processed with identical privacy guarantees to your public subscriptions. On-device transcript generation works for imported files too, entirely through Apple's Neural Engine.

  • Import via Files app, AirDrop, or in-app — no server involved
  • On-device transcription for private recordings (iPhone 15 Pro+ / M1 iPad+)
  • Transcripts stored locally — never sent anywhere
  • Suitable for legally sensitive, confidential, or professionally regulated audio

Frequently asked questions

Does Nuotit collect any listening data?

No. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporting that phones home, and no server receiving information about what you listen to. All data — subscriptions, playback progress, transcripts — is stored locally on your device.

Why doesn't Nuotit require an account?

Because there is no server to create an account on. All processing and storage is local. There is no Nuotit cloud service.

Do RSS feeds themselves track my listening?

Podcast hosts may embed download tracking in feed URLs — this is standard industry practice independent of any app. Nuotit does not add tracking and does not proxy your feed requests. Your IP address may be visible to the podcast host when you download an episode, as with any podcast player.
